Sabre women's hockey settles for split at SNC

Box Score

DE PERE, Wis. - Marian University women's hockey (4-12-3, 3-7-2 NCHA) fell to St. Norbert by a 3-1 final to split the series with the Green Knights.

After a scoreless opening period, St. Norbert scored a pair of power play goals in the second period that were only 2:59 apart.  The Green Knights were able to cushion their lead in the third period before Marian found the back of the net.

Junior Hannah Koniar scored for the third time this season just 26 seconds after the final SNC goal with assists to sophomore Maegan Shuck and junior Ally Fox.

This would be all Marian would manage as the Sabre offense was held to only 22 shots.  Senior Lindsey Strainis made 24 saves in the defeat.

Marian returns home for the first time since December 8 when the Sabres host Aurora Saturday, February 2 at 4 p.m. in NCHA action.
