ROCKFORD, Ill. - Marian University men's basketball (4-15, 2-12 NACC) dropped the series finale to Rockford on the road by an 80-72 final.

A layup from junior Will Polczynski put the score at 18-16 in favor of Rockford with 10:43 left in the first half to cap off a competitive start to the game.  From there, however, the Regents managed to go on a 22-6 run and take a 40-22 lead with 2:05 in the first half.  The Sabres managed to cut into that deficit with a 7-2 run to close out the half.

The Marian offense would find their groove in the second half shooting 16-36 (.444) from the field including 9-20 (.450) from beyond the arc.  The Sabres managed to outscore the Regents 43-48 for the half but were unable to overcome the long Rockford run in the first half.

The Sabres were able to force 17 Rockford turnovers with the Marian bench outscoring the Rockford bench 29-16.

Senior Will Olewinski led the charge off the bench going 4-7 (.571) from beyond the arc to produce a team-high 12 points.  Sophomore Tavaris McCullough and senior Tyrese Pinson each chipped in with 11 points, while sophomore Tristan Van Ess put up 10 points.

Pinson also had five assists and most notably recorded one steal giving him 150 steals in his career making him the eighth Marian men's basketball player in program history to reach that feat.
