Box Score

MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University women's hockey (0-5-0, 0-3-0 NCHA) narrowly fell to Concordia Wisconsin by a 2-1 final in their first road game of the season.

All of the scoring for this NCHA game would come in the second period as neither team was able to light the lamp in the first or third period.  The Falcons were on the board first scoring at the 1:54 mark and then scored 2:56 later to pad their advantage to 2-0.

Marian was able to answer on the power play at the 16:09 mark when senior Morgan Bolin scored for the third time this season.  Junior Hannah Koniar assisted the goal, her first of the year.  The Sabres would spend the final 2:01 with an empty net but were unable to find the equalizer.

The Sabres were outshot in the loss by a 47-21 advantage with senior Maggie Cusey standing on her head to make 45 saves.  Cusey and the penalty kill also kept the Falcons scoreless on four power-play chances.  Freshman Jade Williams led the offense with five shots on goal.
