Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's basketball (2-10, 2-6 NACC) played tough in the first half against Concordia Wisconsin but fell to the Falcons 79-49.
Marian led for most of the opening quarter after scoring the first five points of the game. Concordia Wisconsin was able to battle back and take a five-point lead themselves before Marian cut the deficit down to 14-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Sabre offense had a tough start to the second quarter but found themselves down only 28-22 with 2:55 left in the quarter. CUW went on to build on their lead, however, taking a 37-26 advantage into halftime.
The Falcons opened the second half with an 8-2 run and never looked back pulling away from Marian.
A total of 11 different Sabres recorded a point in the loss led by senior Carley Wilson who had a team-high nine points.
Marian closes a three-game homestand Tuesday, Jan. 14 taking on Illinois Tech for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
