WINONA, Minn. - Marian University women's hockey (3-7-1, 2-3-1 NCHA) led after two periods but fell to Saint Mary's (Minn.) 4-2 on the road.

The Sabres scored the first and only goal of the opening period to start the non-conference game.  Junior Mary Clark was able to score her fourth goal of the season at the 13:06 mark with assists to senior Morgan Bolin and freshman Jade Williams.

Then after just 55 seconds of action in the second period, freshman Rheanne Peigan lit the lamp for the first time in her career with an assist to sophomore Abby Anderson.  The Cardinals were able to cut into the two-goal deficit with a goal at the 4:56 mark to put the score at 2-1 heading to the third.

Saint Mary's (Minn.) was able to tie the game at the 6:48 mark of the third period and took their first lead of the game just 41 seconds later.  An empty-net goal from the Cardinals with just 1:07 left set the final at 4-2.

Senior Molly Gross (1-2-0) made at least 14 saves in all three periods finishing with 49 stops in between the pipes.

Marian remains on the road traveling to UW-Stevens Point Wednesday, Jan.8 for a 7 p.m. puck drop in non-conference action.
