Marian women's volleyball suffers sweep against MSOE to open homestand

Box Score

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's volleyball (11-11, 3-7 NACC) fell to MSOE to open a three-match homestand with set scores of 26-24, 25-19, and 25-11.

The Sabres offense had a tough time all night as the Raiders were able to hold Marian to a .017 hitting percentage.  Marian led the openign set 15-12 before MSOE was able to go on a 10-2 run to go ahead 22-17.  A timeout from the Sabres helped reset things as Marian quickly cut their deficit down to one with a 5-1 run.  MSOE found themselves with a couple set-point opportunities with a 24-22 lead but a service error from MSOE followed by an ace from senior Brooklyn Taylor forced the opening set to go into extras.  MSOE made quick work following the 24-24 tie, however, as the Raiders recorded a pair of kills to take the opener.

MSOE was able to take command in the second and third sets especially on the offensive end recording 25 kills to just five errors.

Junior Andrea Miller had a team-best nine kills, while sophomore Reagan Jasica paced the back row with 11 digs.  Sophomore Anna Tapia was just one dig away from a double-double recording 21 assists with nine digs.

Marian will next host Lakeland Friday, Oct. 22 for a 7 p.m. NACC match.
