Box Score ROCKFORD, Ill. - Marian University women's volleyball (9-6, 2-2 NACC) closed out the weekend with a sweep of Rockford defeating the Regents 25-16, 25-19, and 25-13.
The Sabres reached double-digit kills in each set of the victory and hit .253 as a team. The third set was especially dominant for the offense as Marian recorded a match-best 14 kills with just one error for a .481 hitting percentage. The defense also did their part as Marian held Rockford to a negative hitting percentage at -.030. The Regents hit negatively in two of the three sets and reached only seven kills in one set.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Merrill continued to put together a strong season recording a match-high 13 kills off of a .294 attack percentage, while senior Brooklyn Taylor averaged more than 6.0 digs per set with 21 digs. Sophomore Reagan Jasica also added 15 digs with seven kills, and freshman Tehya Pyawasay had a career-best nine kills with a .375 attack percentage. At the net, sophomore Serina Pehowski had a hand in five Marian blocks with two being solo efforts.
Marian travels to St. Norbert Tuesday, Oct. 5 to take on the Green Knights at 4 p.m. and Beloit after the NACC match.
