Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University women's soccer (9-9-1, 8-6-0 NACC) was eliminated from the NACC Tournament after falling to Dominican by a 4-2 final.
The Stars were able to start fast against the Sabres scoring a pair of goals in the first 14:10 of the match. Marian wouldn't go away easily, however, as junior Allison Fought found the back of the net at the 31:31 mark. Fought then tied the game with just 2:32 left in the half with her third goal of the season, assist to junior Ashley Welk.
The second half had a similar start as the first, however, as Dominican was able to score a pair of goals in the first 7:03 of the second stanza. The Star defense held off the Sabres the remainder of the match to set the final at 4-2. It was the first time all season Dominican had allowed multiple goals in a single match.
Marian was outshot by the Stars 19-7 with three different student-atheltes recording a shot on goal. Senior Kylie Lange (6-4-0) was able to make nine saves in goal for the Sabres.
This marked the fourth time in the past five seasons that Marian women's soccer competed in the NACC postseason.
