FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's hockey (0-3-0, 0-1-0 NCHA) fell to No. 10 Adrian 4-0 to open their first NCHA series of the season.

The Sabres were tasked with playing a nationally-ranked opponent for the second straight game and skated tightly with Adrian.  Adrian was able to score a goal in the opening period but the Sabres trailed just 1-0 after 40 minutes.  The Bulldogs went on to score three goals in the first 9:33 of the third period to pull away and defeat Marian 4-0.

Sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke (0-3-0) made 41 saves in the defeat giving her at least 40 saves in all three starts this season.  The Marian penalty kill also went on to hold Adrian scoreless on six chances.

Marian closes out the series against the Bulldogs at noon tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 13.
