FOND DU LAC - Marian University men's basketball (2-1, 0-0 NACC) beat Finlandia 82-65 in their first home game of the season.

The Sabres were consistent on offense in both halves scoring 41 points in each stanza.  Marian led throughout the entire game and opened with a 23-17 advantage with 9:26 to play in the first half. The Sabres then turned it on for the final minutes of the half using an 18-7 run that eventually led to a 41-26 lead at halftime.  The Lions were able to trim their deficit down to as little as 11 on a pair of occasions but a spurt of eight unanswered points in the middle of the half proved to be enough of a cushion the remainder of the way as the Sabres led 54-35 with just 12:29 left in the game.  Marian went on to lead by as much as 21 with 8:13 left to play en route to the 82-65 final.

Marian finished with a 44.4-percent field-goal percentage in the victory with eight made three-pointers.  Sophomore Delvin Barnstable provided a spark off the bench for the Sabres scoring a game-high 22 points.  Senior David Britton dished out six assists to go with 15 points, while fellow senior Scott Paulus grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Marian remains at home to take on Beloit Monday, Nov. 22 for a 7 p.m. tip in non-conference action.
