Sabre women's hockey shut out at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - Marian University women's hockey (2-6-2, 1-3-0-2 NCHA) was defeated by Trine 3-0 to open a non-conference road series.

Marian set a season-high for shots as the Sabres outshot the Thunder by a 40-37 margin marking just the second time this season Marian outshot their opponent.  After a scoreless first, Trine was able to score a pair of goals separated by just 2:01.  The Thunder then sealed the victory with a power-play tally in the third period with 4:41 of action left.

Sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke (2-6-2) posted 34 saves in the defeat, while sophomore Hannah Cunha paced the offense with four shots.

Marian closes out the series and first half of the season tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. (CST).
