Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University men's hockey (3-5-0, 2-1-0 NCHA) led 2-1 in the second period before five unanswered goals lifted the Vikings to a 6-2 win.
A power-play goal from the Vikings opened the scoring for the game but their lead wouldn't last long. The Sabres found an equalizer just 3:17 later when sophomore Ty Enns scored his fifth goal of the season with assists to freshmen Mason Richey and Mateo Albinati. This put the score at 1-1 heading into the second period.
The Sabres were able to take their first lead of the game 3:34 into the second period when Richey lit the lamp for the first time in his career with assists to Albinati and junior Parker Colley. Lawrence responded with another power-play tally to tie the game at the 7:07 mark and five minutes later took the lead for good. Lawrence took a 4-2 lead into the third period where they scored a third power-play goal and an empty-net goal to put the final at 6-2.
Freshman Aaron Brunn (1-2-0) took the defeat making 14 saves in the first two periods, while sophomore Colby Muise allowed just one goal and made eight saves in the final period.
There was a total of 93 penalty minutes in the game with Marian going scoreless on six power-play chances and the Vikings converting three of their six opportunities.
Marian travels to Lawrence tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 20, for a 7 p.m. puck drop to close out the series.
