Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University men's soccer (0-1-0, 0-1-0 NACC) was able to force overtime but fell to CUW by a 3-2 final.
The Sabres nearly scored just 30 seconds into the game when sophomore Chase Hayden hit a post and couldn't get a friendly bounce. The Falcons bounced scoring off of a free kick in the fifth minute and netting a penalty-kick goal in the 14th minute to go ahead 2-0. Freshman Giuliani Corazzina quickly responded scoring his first collegiate goal at the 18:13 mark with an assist to sophomore Chase Hayden.
Marian was able to find their equalizer in the 66th minute when Hayden scored his first goal of the season with an assist from senior Cade Klusendorf. Marian had a chance to net their own penalty kick shortly after but the Sabres were turned away.
The Falcons had the only two shots of overtime scoring on their second shot in the eighth minute of the extra frame.
Hayden paced the offense with his three-point game recording three shots on goal. Senior Cory Koehler made a pair of saves in the first half of the game before fellow senior Kevin Cervantes (0-1-0) made four saves in the second half and overtime.
Marian remains at home to take on MSOE Sunday, March 21 for a 1 p.m. NACC match.
