Box Score MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University women's hockey (2-10-0, 2-6-0 NCHA) dropped their first round match-up of the NCHA Slaats Cup playoffs to Concordia Wisconsin by a 5-1 final.
The Falcons were able to score the first goal of the game at the 6:21 mark of the opening stanza but the Sabres had an answer. At the 11:56 mark the Sabres were able to get a power-play goal from sophomore Ally Pairolero, her first-career goal, to tie the game at 1-1. Senior Mary Clark was able to assist the goal, her seventh helper of the season.
CUW would take a 2-1 lead going into the second period with a power-play goal of their own and opened the second period with another power-play tally. The Falcons then scored a goal in the final 20 seconds of the second period and the first 20 seconds of the third period to put the final at 5-1.
Marian was outshot in the game by a 34-22 margin with senior Lindsay Lewison making 29 saves. Lewison had double-digit saves in both the second and third periods.
Clark and sophomore Jade Williams each had four shots on goal to pace the offense.
