Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's soccer (2-4-0, 2-4-0 NACC) played well for most of the game but fell to MSOE 4-1 in their final home game of the season.
The opening half saw neither team score, but MSOE was able to outshoot the Sabres 11-3. Junior Kylie Lange was able to stop all six shots she saw in the stanza with the Sabres unable to record a shot on goal.
The Raiders were able to break the scoreless draw before scoring on back-to-back corner kicks just 2:18 apart to go ahead 3-0. Junior Meghan Batzner was able to get Marian on the scoreboard when she snuck a shot inside the far post from the left side of the box with her left foot at the 83:45 mark. The goal was her first of the season and she was assisted by junior Charity Hertel.
MSOE was able to score one final goal off a free kick in the final minute to set the final at 4-1.
Lange (2-4-0) finished the game making nine saves in goal for the Sabres. Senior Shannon Coughlin had three shots to pace the offense, while fellow senior Danielle Flouro had a pair of shots in the defeat.
Marian travels to Lakeland Wednesday, April 14 for a 7 p.m. kick-off in NACC action.
