Box Score PLYMOUTH, Wis. - Marian University women's soccer (3-4-0, 3-4-0 NACC) earned a berth in the NACC Tournament with a 2-0 victory at Lakeland.
Senior Danielle Flouro opened the scoring for the game when she took a rebound from senior Shannon Coughlin and went into the upper right at the 34:41 mark. The goal was the first of the season for Flouro. This would be the lone tally for the Sabres, however, but Marian would outshoot the Muskies 14-2 in the opening half.
Coughlin then found the back of the net herself at the 57:20 mark to put Marian ahead 2-0 with an assist to junior Charity Hertel. It was the second goal for Coughlin this season. The pair of goals proved to be enough as Marian held on for their second clean sheet of the year.
The Sabres finished with a 29-6 advantage in shots led by Coughlin who had 10 shots, eight of which were on goal. Junior Kylie Lange (3-4-0) stopped all five shots she faced to earn the shutout in goal.
Marian closes out NACC play traveling to Alverno Friday, April 16 for a 4 p.m. kick-off.
