Box Score MILWAUKEE - Marian University men's soccer (4-5-0, 3-4-0 NACC) suffered a tough 2-1 loss to MSOE in double overtime of the first round of the NACC Tournament.
The opening 45 minutes was a stalemate as neither team was able to find the back of the net. MSOE held a 10-4 advantage in shots for the opening stanza, but for shots on goal, the Sabres were only outshot 3-2. Marian was able to break through first when freshman Alex Valenzuela scored his first collegiate goal at the 59:07 mark.
The 1-0 Marian lead held until the final minute when MSOE was able to find an equalizer with just 48 seconds remaining. After a scoreless first overtime, the Raiders were able to complete the comeback on their first shot of the second overtime at the 104:40 mark.
MSOE finished with a 28-11 edge in shots as three different Sabres recorded multiple shots. Senior Kevin Cervantes (3-3-0) was able to make 10 saves in goal for the Sabres including all four of the shots he faced in the first overtime.
