Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's soccer (2-3-0, 2-3-0 NACC) suffered a season sweep at the hands of CUW falling to the Falcons 5-2.
The Falcons were able to score the first two goals of the game, but the Sabres responded in the final minutes of the half to cut their deficit in half. Sophomore Ashley Welk was able to come into the box and snuck a shot inside the far post for her fourth goal of the year to put the halftime tally at 2-1.
Concordia Wisconsin once again scored the first two goals of the second half, the first coming just 1:37 into the half, as CUW took a 4-1 advantage. In the 80th minute, junior Natalie Bilyk was able to draw a foul in the box and senior Shannon Coughlin buried the penalty kick in the upper left corner for her first goal of the year. The Falcons would add one final goal with just 3:45 left in the game to put the final at 5-2.
Welk and Coughlin each had three shots in the game to pace the offense. Junior Kylie Lange (2-3-0) suffered the loss in goal for Marian stopping eight of the 13 shots she saw.
Marian plays their final home game of the season hosting MSOE Sunday, April 11 for an 11 a.m. kick-off.
