Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's soccer (0-3-1, 0-0-0 NACC) suffered a third straight shutout falling to Saint Mary's (Minn.) 4-0.
The opening of the game went back-and-forth and it wasn't until the 25th minute that the Cardinals were able to get on the board. Then SMU was able to tack onto their lead in the final four minutes to take a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Cardinals were able to control play in the opening minutes of the second half scoring just 7:37 into the second stanza. The scoring was then concluded in the 68th minute to set the final at 4-0.
Sophomore Ashley Welk was the lone Sabre with multiple shots in the defeat, while senior Kylie Lange (0-1-0) made six saves in her first start of the season.
Marian opens NACC play at Wisconsin Lutheran Wednesday, Sept. 15 for a 5 p.m. kick-off.
