Sabre men's soccer suffers slow finish at MSOE

Box Score

MILWAUKEE - Marian University men's soccer (3-7-0, 0-5-0 NACC) scored the first goal of the game but MSOE defeated the Sabres 4-1.

Marian was able to get out to a solid start when sophomore Max Kauffman was able to score his seventh goal of the season off of an assist from freshman Drew Cowden in the 21st minute.  This lead didn't last long, however, as MSOE converted a penalty kick just 7:16 later to send the game to a 1-1 tie at halftime.

MSOE was able to end the stalemate in the 64th minute before scoring a pair of goals in the final five minutes to set the final at 4-1.  The Raiders controlled the game in the second half recording 11 shots and holding the Sabres to no shots.

Freshman Aaron Perez (0-1-0) stood tall in the first start of his career making six saves with four of his stops coming in the second stanza.  Marian had five different student-athletes record a shot with two being on frame.

Marian remains on the road traveling to IIT for a 3:30 p.m. kick-off Saturday, Oct. 2 in NACC action.
