FOND DU LAC - Marian University men's volleyball (7-0, 0-0 NACC) defeated Wabash in four sets and Maranatha Baptist in straight sets to tie a program record with seven straight wins.

The Sabres had a slow start to the day falling behind Wabash 7-2.  Marian was able to bounce back and cut their deficit down to one at 11-10 before the Little Giants used a 7-2 spurt to extend their lead out to 18-12.  The Sabres made one final push late with a 6-2 run tot rail just 24-22 but Wabash was able to take the opening set.

The Marian offense dominated the rest of the match recording just two errors in the next three sets with at least 11 kills.  The second set saw Marian hit .524 with 13 kills and the fourth set had the Marian offense record 18 kills. 

Sophomore Derek Wills had a big match recording a match-high 19 kills with nine digs and three total blocks.  Freshman Keanu Ouranitsas-Hayes didn't record an error hitting .769 with 10 kills, while sophomore Aaron Velasco posted a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs to go with four service aces.  At the net, senior Liam Skinner had a hand in six total blocks.

The second match of the day had Marian easily take care of Maranatha Baptist defeating the Sabercats 25-11, 25-14, and 25-13.  Marian had another dominant match on the offensive end recording 35 kills with a .466 hitting percentage.  The defense for the Sabres was also able to hold MBU to a -.031 hitting percentage.

Wills added another 12 kills hitting .588 in the sweep, while senior Blake Badtke and freshman Dante Pulphus each had seven digs in the back row. Ouranitsas-Hayes showed his defense in the second match recording five total blocks.

Marian opens NACC play Wednesday, February 2 at St. Norbert for a 7 p.m. first serve.
