RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University women's basketball (6-12, 4-8 NACC) fell to Dominican by a final of 62-41.

The Sabres got out to a slow start as Dominican was able to build a 17-9 lead after the first quarter of action.  Marian was able to keep their deficit in single digits before a 13-3 run from the Stars saw Dominican take a 34-17 lead.  Dominican would take a 34-22 advantage into the locker room after the Sabres scored five unanswered to finish the half. 

Marian was able to trim the Dominican advantage down to single digits at 46-39 after the end of the third quarter with the Sabres scoring the final five points of the stanza.  The final quarter was all Dominican, however, as the Stars outscored Marian 16-2 in the fourth to finish off a 62-41 win.

Junior Brianna Martin led the team with a game-high 12 points, while senior Sierra Strope-Robinson grabbed 11 rebounds, four on the offensive end.

Marian returns home to host Concordia Wisconsin Tuesday, February 1 for a 7 p.m. tip in NACC action.
