Box Score FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's volleyball (5-15, 2-2 NACC) swept Rockford with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-18 to close out a weekend of NACC play.
The Sabre offense was dominant recording at least 15 kills in all three sets. Marian got out to a slow start but a 6-1 run late in the first allowed Marian to pull ahead and take the opener. The Sabres led for the entirety of the second set and used a 6-2 run in the middle of the set again to pull away. Rockford was able to take a 3-1 lead to open the third set only to have Marian go on a 16-5 run to take a commanding 17-8 advantage.Â
As a team, Marian hit .288 led by sophomore
Riley Shores who had a match-high 15 kills, her second double-digit kill performance as a Sabre, and hit .314. The duo of senior
Reagan Brown and junior
Reagan Jasica each had 12 digs to lead the back row. Junior
Anna Tapia filled the stat sheet with 36 assists, eight kills, and six digs.
Marian takes on Wisconsin Lutheran Tuesday, Oct. 4 for a 7 p.m. first serve.
