Box Score KOHLER, Wis. - Marian University women's soccer (6-6-3, 5-4-2 NACC) posted its fourth shutout of the season to defeat Lakeland 3-0.
Senior
Meghan Batzner continued her hot stretch scoring a pair of goals separated by just 3:43. Her first came at the 26:16 mark with an assist to senior
Megan Harbeck and the second from freshman
Caitlin Traver. She now has eight goals on the season and it was her second straight multi-goal game.
Another senior in
Ashley Welk scored the only goal of the second half at the 54:53 mark with an assist from fellow senior
Dallas Kreisa. The goal was her ninth of the season.Â
The Sabre defense allowed just one shot on goal in the victory, a shot freshman
Chelsea King (2-1-0) was able to stop. Freshman
Haley Massari was also able to get her first action of the season.
Marian takes on Grinnell in non-conference action Sunday, Oct. 23 for a 2:30 p.m. kick-off. The Sabres then travel to Edgewood Wednesday, Oct. 26 for the final NACC match of the season at 7 p.m. Marian currently trails St. Norbert by one point for the final spot in the NACC Tournament.
