Colby Muise of Marian University NCAA men's hockey has been named the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday.
Muise (Yarmouth, N.S.) helped lead the Sabres to a split against No. 1 Adrian snapping a 35-game unbeaten streak the Bulldogs took into the series. Muise would turn away 43 shots in the opener of the series where Marian earned a 5-2 win to open conference play. He allowed just two goals giving him a .955 save percentage for the game and held the Bulldogs to just one power-play goal on eight opportunities. Then in game two, he made another 21 saves to finish the weekend with 64 saves, a 2.51 goals-against average, and a .928 save percentage. Muise currently ranks fourth in the NCHA with 91 total saves on the year.
