NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Marian University NCAA men's hockey (3-5-0, 1-2-1-0 NCHA) fell in overtime for the first time this season dropping the series opener at St. Olaf 3-2.

• Each team scored a goal in the opening period with St. Olaf scoring at the 15:58 mark and Marian tying the game just 41 seconds later.
• Freshman Luca Marcellitti lit the lamp for the first time as a Sabre with an assist from sophomore Anthony Bilka and junior Ty Mosimann.
• Marian took its first lead of the game with just four seconds left in the second period when senior Jack Sampson scored with assists from sophomores Jaymes Knee and Jordan Simoneau.
• The Oles found an equalizer at the 10:49 mark of the third period and netted the overtime winner with just 59 seconds left in the extra period.  Both goals were St. Olaf power plays.

• Marian is now 2-1 this season in games that need overtime and have yet to go to a shootout.
• The Sabres held a 33-28 edge in shots and outshot St. Olaf 5-2 in overtime.
• Special teams had a tough night for Marian as the power play was scoreless on five chances, one of which came in overtime, and St. Olaf converted two of its three opportunities.
