GENEVA, N.Y. - Freshman Allyson Nichols of Marian University field hockey has been named a second-team all-region selection by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).

Nichols (Little Falls, N.Y.) adds this accolade after already earning SAA Newcomer of the Year honors and first-team All-SAA.  She had a dominating first season ranking second in the SAA for goals with 17, assists, with nine, and total points with 43.  Nichols also ranked 11th in the nation with 2.87 points per game and 14th in the country with 1.13 goals per game.  She would net five game-winning goals during the season which put her atop the conference.  Nichols had three hat tricks this season with a season-best eight-point game coming in the finale game of the season against Sewanee.  She went on to earn SAA Offensive Player of the Week three times during the season.
