DUBUQUE, Iowa - Marian University women's basketball (0-1, 0-0 NACC) was defeated 86-57 at Dubuque to open the season.
Marian was able to score 23 points in the first two quarters and trailed by 11 at the half. A big third quarter from the Spartans saw Dubuque outscore Marian 27-15 and pull away from the Sabres. Marian was able to beat Dubuque for points in the paint by a margin of 38-34 but only made one three-pointer in the defeat. Â
Senior
Paris Harris led Marian with 12 blocks and was one of four student-athletes with four rebounds. Freshman
Chelsea King came off the bench to shoot 4-for-5 (.800) with nine points scored, and sophomore
Hope Burns had three steals.
Marian returns to Dubuque, Iowa to take on Loras Friday, Nov. 11 for a 7 p.m. tip.
