Sabre women's hockey suffers sweep at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - Marian University women's hockey (0-7-1, 0-5-0-1 NCHA) was swept by Trine falling by a similar 4-3 final.

  • The Thunder jumped out to a fast start scoring three goals in the first 9:11 of action.
  • Senior Alyssa Heim was able to trim the Marian deficit down to 3-1 with a goal at the 14:30 mark.  Senior Brooke Anderson and junior Mackenzie Rosin each assisted the goal.
  • The two squads each scored a goal in the second period with Trine scoring first to take a 4-1 lead.
  • Marian responded when senior Kristen Bisschop scored on a power play with assists to Anderson and fellow senior Rheanne Peigan.
  • Peigan then lit the lamp with just 39 seconds left and an extra attacker on the ice to put the final at 4-3.

  • Marian outshot the Thunder for a second straight game by a 39-31 margin.  The final two periods saw Marian outshoot the Thunder 32-18.
  • The Sabre penalty kill held Trine scoreless on three chances and the Marian power play was 1-for-5.
