Sabre women's basketball struggles to slow down Spartan offense

AURORA, Ill. - Marian University men's basketball (6-16, 4-12 NACC) fell on the road at Aurora by a final score of 87-61.

The Sabres were able to keep pace in the opening quarter only being outscored 26-21 after 10 minutes of play.  Marian made six field goals and was perfect at the charity stripe in the first quarter.  The Spartans were able to build their lead, however, taking a 43-31 advantage into the break.

Aurora was able to put the game away in the third quarter outscoring Marian 20-12 in the stanza.  Marian had another strong offensive performance in the fourth quarter scoring 18 points.

Junior Brianna Martin led the way for Marian scoring 13 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Senior Paris Harris also had 10 points to go with eight rebounds and two steals.

Marian closes out the regular season hosting MSOE Tuesday, February 15 for a 7 p.m. tip.
