FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's soccer (3-3-1, 2-1-0 NACC) didn't allow a shot in the second half but fell to St. Norbert 1-0.
The Sabres dominated possession in the opening 15 minutes of the game and created quality chances but were unable to find the back of the net. The momentum shifted in the 18th minute when the Green Knights were able to score off of a corner to take a 1-0 lead. The remainder of the half was controlled by SNC, but Marian was able to keep the Green Knights off the board.
Marian then dominated the entire second half and didn't allow a shot. The Sabres were once again able to create several quality opportunities but none of the nine shots in the second half found the back of the net.
The shots finished in favor of the Sabres by a 14-5 margin with senior
Ashley Welk and sophomore
Abby Larson each firing multiple shots on goal. Senior
Amy Birner (1-2-1) made two saves in the first half in goal for Marian.
Marian travels to Benedictine Saturday, Sept. 24 for a 2 p.m. kick-off in NACC action.
