ATLANTA - Freshman
Allyson Nichols of Marian University field hockey has been selected as the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Nichols (Little Falls, N.Y.) recorded her second hat trick of the season as the Sabres completed a season sweep of Concordia Wisconsin with a 4-1 victory in the home finale. She scored all three of her goals in the final quarter including the game-winner on a breakaway which came just 1:15 into the fourth. Shortly after, she was able to add a penalty-stroke score with 9:55 left to play before completing the hat trick with a loose-ball score with 5:06 remaining in the game. Nichols currently leads the SAA with 13 points and is tied atop the conference leaderboard for goals with six.
