Kayla Kolpitcke of Marian University women's hockey has been selected as the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week.
Kolpitcke (Powell, Wyo.) continued a dominating start to the second half leading Marian to a sweep of Lawrence.  She made 30 saves in the opener, only allowing two goals (in a 3-2 win) and followed that with 22 saves and just one goal allowed in the second game, sending the Sabres to a 3-1 victory. Kolpitcke finished the series a perfect 2-0 with a .945 save percentage and 52 total saves, while also holding the Vikings scoreless on 13 power-play chances. So far in the second half, Kolpitcke is an impressive 5-1-0 overall with a .937 save percentage.
