DUBUQUE, Iowa - Marian University men's volleyball (3-3, 0-0 NACC) was defeated by a Loras squad receiving votes in the national poll in straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-18.

   

• The Sabres were able to keep pace with the Duhawks for most of the first set only trailing 17-13. 
• Loras was able to push ahead with a quick 5-2 run and held on to take the opener.
• The second set opened with Marian only trailing 11-8 before Loras went on a 10-4 run to build a comfortable lead.
• Marian once again only trailed 14-11 to open the third set but the Duhawks pulled ahead with an 8-4 run.

   

• The Sabre defense had no answer for the offense of Loaras who hit .425 for the match and had 40 kills.
• The Duhawks also had an 8-1 advantage in blocks and 11-2 edge in service aces.

   

Junior Derek Wills led the offense with eight kills and had seven digs.	Junior Aaron Velasco paced the back row with 13 digs.	Sophomore Isaac Dreifuerst had seven kills.
