ADRIAN, Mich. - Sophomore
Noah Pickart and senior
Jordan Simoneau of Marian University NCAA men's hockey have each been named an NCHA Star of the Week.
The duo helped lead Marian to three wins during the week including a victory over an Augsburg squad that was receiving votes in the national poll. The victory over the Auggies was the first win for the Sabres over Augsburg in program history.
Pickart (Fond du Lac, Wis.) posted six points on the week after scoring three goals with just as many helpers. He opened the week with a massive four-point game against Augsburg where he scored two power-play goals to go with two assists. One of his goals proved to be the game-winner. Pickart then had his second multi-point game of the season in the finale against Dubuque after scoring another power-play goal to go with an assist.Â
Simoneau (Tisdale, Sask.) had a point in all three games on the week and netted a pair of multi-goal efforts to finish the week with five points. In the win over Augburg, he scored a power-play goal and sealed the win with an empty-net score. He then earned an assist in the opening game against Dubuque before posting his second multi-goal game of the week in the finale. His second goal in the finale with the Spartans came on a power play and was an empty-net tally.Â
