Marian women's basketball drops first half finale at Lawrence

APPLETON, Wis. - The Marian University women's basketball (2-7, 0-2 NACC) team had a tough second half offensively falling at Lawrence 59-46.

  • Marian jumped out quickly opening the game with an 11-4 lead.
  • The Sabres built its lead out to as large 11 at 17-6 and took a 17-8 advantage into the second quarter.
  • Marian continued its strong start into the second quarter leading 22-10 with 6:04 until half.
  • The Vikings responded going on a 13-2 run to only trail by one.
  • Marian would hold onto the lead and went into half ahead 31-28.
  • The second half was all Lawrence as Marian would only manage one field goal in the third and fourth quarters.
  • The third quarter was a one-possession game for most of the 10 minutes as Lawrence took a 42-39 advantage into the final quarter.
  • Marian only trailed 46-44 with 6:00 left on the clock before Lawrence closed out the game with a 13-2 spurt.
