APPLETON, Wis. - The Marian University women's basketball (2-7, 0-2 NACC) team had a tough second half offensively falling at Lawrence 59-46.
- Marian jumped out quickly opening the game with an 11-4 lead.
- The Sabres built its lead out to as large 11 at 17-6 and took a 17-8 advantage into the second quarter.
- Marian continued its strong start into the second quarter leading 22-10 with 6:04 until half.
- The Vikings responded going on a 13-2 run to only trail by one.
- Marian would hold onto the lead and went into half ahead 31-28.
- The second half was all Lawrence as Marian would only manage one field goal in the third and fourth quarters.
- The third quarter was a one-possession game for most of the 10 minutes as Lawrence took a 42-39 advantage into the final quarter.
- Marian only trailed 46-44 with 6:00 left on the clock before Lawrence closed out the game with a 13-2 spurt.
- The Sabres shot 7-of-12 (.583) from the field in the opening quarter and finished the game 14-of-47 (.298).
- Marian would only go 2-of-19 (.105) in the final 20 minutes.
- Lawrence held an advantage in turnovers by a 20-8 advantage and outscored Marian 15-5 in points off turnovers.
- The Sabres outrebounded Lawrence 44-41 and tied a season-high with 15 offensive boards.
