MILWAUKEE - Freshman
Kiara Williams of Marian University women's basketball has been named to the All-NACC Second Team.
Williams (Warren, Mich.) proved to be a strong addition for the Sabres in her first season and becomes the first freshman to earn all-conference recognition since Jaime Toellner for the 2006-07 season. Williams led the Sabres in scoring with 13.4 points per game and finished third in the NACC with 9.6 rebounds per game, also good for seventh in the Marian single-season record book. Her ability to score and grab rebounds saw her record 10 double-doubles during the season, good for second in the conference. Williams ended the season with a double-double in eight of the final 12 games.
Williams had 10 games this season with at least 15 points scoring a season-high 27 points at home against Lakeland. She also had 11 games with double-digit rebounds setting a NACC single-game record with 28 rebounds at home against Dominican, a record that was reset later in the season.
