ASHLAND, Wis. - Marian University men's lacrosse (7-1, 0-0 NACC) cruised to a 23-6 win over Northland to secure a sweep of the season series.

   

• Northland scored the first goal of the game but Marian responded scoring the next four goals.  
• The LumberJacks scored teh final goal of the opening quarter to cut the Sabre lead down to 5-2.
• The second quarter was all Marian as the Sabres shutout NC and scored six goals to go ahead 11-2.
• Five different Sabres were able to score in the second quarter.
• Just like the first quarter, Northland opened the second quarter with a goal.
• Marian then rattled off eight unanswered goals to build a 19-3 lead going into the final quarter.
• The final quarter saw Marian outscore Northland 4-3 with the Sabres scoring a pair of man-up goals.

   

• Marian finished with a 44-41 edge in shots and 35-29 advantage in ground balls.
• The Sabre clear finished the game 26-of-29 (.897).
• Marian won 18 of the 33 faceoffs, the third time this season the Sabres won more faceoffs than its opponent.
• The Sabres are now 4-0 all-time against Northland scoring at least 20 goals in three of those wins.
• Marian extends its winning streak to seven after dropping the first game of the season.

 

Sophomore Trevor Stachowski led all scorers with six goals.	Sophomore Serge Simard scored four goals and added five assists for a nine-point game.	Freshman Jackson Sweeney made 13 saves with a .684 save percentage.
