AURORA, Ill. - Marian University women's volleyball (3-5, 0-1 NACC) fell to Aurora to open NACC play in four sets by the scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-14, 25-7.
- The two teams traded points throughout the first set as Marian led 22-21 late before Aurora secured the set one victory on a 4-1 run.
- Set two saw much of the same from set one as the two teams were tied 18-18 when the Sabres scored three straight points only to have the Spartans take a 22-21 lead with four unanswered points.
- Marian was able to rally, however, evening the sets behind a 4-1 run.
- Aurora came out the gates in set three on a 6-1 run and never surrendered a lead to take set three easily.
- Aurora used the momentum from set three to hold the Marian offense to -.154 hitting in the fourth and final set.
- The Sabres recorded 60 digs making it the fourth time doing so this season.
- Marian held the Spartans under .160 hitting percentage for set one and two but Aurora's offense got hot and hit .276, and .346 in set three and four respectively.
