FOND DU LAC - Marian University NCAA men's hockey (7-11-0, 2-7-1-1 NCHA) earned a point in its series opener with MSOE falling in overtime 3-2.
- Marian was able to get on the board early when newcomer Sheldon Kwiatkowski scored just 4:04 into the game.
- MSOE had an answer shortly after tying the game at the 8:01 mark.

- The Raiders were able to take their first lead of the game with 7:51 left in the second period with a short-handed goal.
- Marian quickly evened the score at the beginning of the third period when freshman Caden Carlson scored his sixth goal of the season just 2:36 in.
- The Carlson goal proved to be enough to force overtime.
- MSOE controlled the puck for all of the extra session and earned the extra point with a goal 1:27 in.
- Marian recorded more shots in two of the three periods but trailed MSOE for the game by a 38-28 margin.
- Each team had three power play chances but neither penalty kill unit allowed a goal.
