MADISON, Wis. - Marian University women's basketball (3-10, 1-3 NACC) led at halftime but was defeated 77-66 by Edgewood.
- Neither offense had any issues scoring in the first quarter as the two squads combined for 43 points.
- Edgewood opened with a 15-13 lead before Marian scored 10 unanswered points to lead by 10.
- The Eagles were able to cut into that deficit with five unanswered points to put the Sabres ahead 23-20 at the first stoppage.
- Marian only led by one after the first 31 seconds of the second quarter but then went on a 18-6 spurt to lead 41-28 with 3:19 left until halftime.
- Once again, Edgewood had a strong finish to the quarter using a 11-3 run to only trail 44-39.
- The Sabres led for the majority of the third quarter eventually finding themselves ahead 53-47 with 4:44 in the quarter.
- Edgewood was able to rally again over the final 4:44 scoring 10 unanswered points to take a 57-53 advantage into the final quarter.
- The Eagles built their lead out to eight only to have Marian go on an 11-4 run to only trail 66-65 with 3:00 on the scoreboard.
- Edgewood managed to put the game away at the charity stripe and finished the game with an 11-1 run.
- Marian shot 26-of-62 (.419) for the game and 7-of-21 (.333) from beyond the arc. The Sabres were 19-of-33 (.576) in the first half of the defeat.
- Edgewood went 26-of-64 (.406) and 9-of-23 (.391) on three-pointers.
- The turnover battle saw the Eagles hold a slim 15-14 advantage, but Edgewood took advantage of Sabre miscues outscoring Marian 25-10 in points off turnovers.
- The Eagles finished with a 30-18 edge for points in the paint.
- Edgewood has now won the last nine meetings against Marian.
