Marian field hockey drops heart breaker at Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. - Marian University field hockey (5-5, 1-1 CFHC) allowed a goal with just 1:03 left to play in a 1-0 loss to Sewanee in non-conference action.

Marian was able to get out to a quick start in the opening quarter but after an evenly matched second quarter, the squads went into halftime scoreless.
Sewanee was able to come out strong in the third quarter but Marian was able to hold the Tigers off the scoreboard.
It wouldn't be until 1:03 remained that Sewanee would score on a penalty corner to break the scoreless stalemate.

Marian was outshot 18-13 for the game and 9-5 for shots on goal.
The Tigers narrowly edged the Sabres in penalty corners by a 10-7 margin.
Each team had 42 fouls with Marian being carded twice and Sewanee once.
This is the first win for Sewanee over Marian in five games.

	Sophomore Emilee Clarey (3-5) finished with eight saves.
	Junior Jikke Biemans led both squads with five shots, four of which were on goal.
	Sophomore Angelene Castro finished with three shots.
