FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's soccer (5-6-3, 2-2-3 NACC) scored twice in the second half to salvage a 2-2 draw against Concordia Chicago.
- Concordia Chicago found the back of the net just 2:41 into the match off of a corner kick to take an early lead.
- The Cougars built that lead with a goal in the 27th minute and took the 2-0 advantage into halftime.
- After some back-and-forth for the first 20 minutes of the second half, Marian was able to take over for the final 25 minutes.
- Sophomore Emily Gordillo sent a corner kick to the top of the box and found sophomore Ysabella Sanchez who went into the near side upper corner for her first goal of the season.
- Just 5:24 later, Marian tied the game with another corner-kick goal, this time off the foot of freshman Sofia Vizcarra, her first goal as a Sabre.
- Gordillo sent a corner into the box that found the head of junior Caitlin Traver who sent it to Vizcarra who then sent a shot from the side of her body inside the near post corner.
- The Sabres had six shots on goal over the final 18 minutes but settled for the single point.
- Marian outshot Concordia Chicago 29-8 for the game with a 21-3 edge in the second half.
- The Sabres also had 11 shots on goal to only five for the Cougars.
- Marian had seven corner kicks in the second half as part of an 11-5 advantage for the game.
- Each team had a yellow card with Marian being called for 10 fouls to seven for CUC.
- Marian is now 12-4-3 all-time against Concordia Chicago and is 2-0-2 over the last four meetings.
