CHICAGO - Marian University women's volleyball (9-19, 3-9 NACC) was defeated by Illinois Tech and Elmhurst in straight sets.

AT ILLINOIS TECH (L: 25-21, 25-19, 25-21)
- Illinois Tech jumped all over the Sabres to open the day taking 10 of the first 12 points in the opening set.
- Marian rallied to trim its deficit down to three at 23-20 but couldn't complete the comeback.
- The second set saw the Scarlet Hawks lead 13-12 before scoring six unanswered to build a 19-12 advantage and cruise to the set win.
- Another fast start saw Tech lead 6-1 to open the third set.
- Marian rallied and tied the set at 14-14, but a 5-1 spurt from the Scarlet Hawks allowed Tech to secure the sweep.

VS. ELMHURSTÂ (L: 25-11, 25-13, 25-17)
- Similarly to the start of the Illinois Tech match, Elmhurst jumped ahead on the Sabres with a 14-3 lead to begin the match.
- The Blue Jays also had a 7-1 spurt later in the set.
- A 9-2 run is how Elmhurst opened the second set and the Blue Jays were able to lead by as many as 10 to take a 2-0 lead.
- Elmhurst scored nine of the first 12 points to open the third, but this time Marian rallied to only trail 12-10.
- The Blue Jays were able to pull away, however, going on a 7-2 run.

AT ILLINOIS TECH
- Illinois Tech had a 44-26 advantage for kills and 56-50 edge in digs.
- The Sabres had six blocks in the match.
- Marian is now 5-6 all-time against Illinois Tech and have lost the last two matches.
VS. ELMHURST
- Elmhurst finished with 46 kills to 21 for the Sabres and a 47-32 advantage in digs.
- The Blue Jays finished with eight service aces and didn't allow an ace.
- Marian remains winless in eight meetings against Elmhurst.
