DUBUQUE, Iowa - Marian University women's ice hockey (2-5-0, 1-4-0-0 NCHA) earned its first NCHA win of the season defeating Dubuque 2-1.

- Neither team was able to light the lamp in the opening period despite a combined 21 shots on goal.
- Marian was able to strike first just 3:06 into the second period when freshman Zowie Hunter netted her first goal as a Sabre with an assist from sophomore Jessica Tadevich and senior Emma Heide.
- The offensive struggles continued until the final minute of the game when sophomore Catherine Yasenak was able to score an empty-net goal, assist to Heide, with just 15.4 seconds remaining.
- The Spartans were able to end the shutout scoring in the final second to put the final at 2-1.

- Marian had a season-high 35 shots on goal to only 26 for the Spartans.
- The Sabres had double-digit shots in all three periods of the win.
- Marian also had an edge in the face-off circle going 34-29.
- Neither side had a power-play score with Marian having seven chances and Dubuque six.
- Marian is 3-0-0 all-time against Dubuque with this being the first road game.
