LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Marian University men's lacrosse (0-1, 0-0 NACC) fell to Lake Forest in its season opener by a final score of 15-8.

- Marian was able to open the scoring 4:52 into the game but Lake Forest responded with three unanswered goals.
- The Sabres were able to net the final goal of the first to only trail 3-2 after 15 minutes.
- The Foresters took control in the second period scoring five goals in the first 7:53 of the quarter.
- Marian trailed 8-3 at half after scoring a man-up goal to conclude the scoring for the second quarter.
- After LFC scored the first three goals of the third, Marian scored three goals of their own to go into the fourth behind 11-6.
- Marian would manage two goals in the fourth but LFC would net four goals to put the final at 15-8.

- Lake Forest had a 54-26 advantage for shots in the game with Marian managing double-digit shots only in the opening stanza.
- The Foresters also had a 35-13 advantage on ground balls.
- LFC had a heft advantage in the face-off circle with 22 wins to only four for Marian.
- Marian had one man-up goal on six chances, while LFC was a perfect 3-for-3.
- This was the first meeting between the two programs.
