PLYMOUTH, Wis. - Marian University softball (14-18, 8-12 NACC) dropped a pair of one-run games to Lakeland 5-4 in eight innings and 4-3.

GAME 1
- Lakeland jumped out early on the Sabres scoring a pair of runs in the first inning.
- The lead for the Muskies grew to 4-0 after scoring a run in the third and fourth.
- Despite struggling the first six innings, Marian found life in the seventh.
- Sophomore Sofia Cerullo opened the rally with a double that got Marian on the scoreboard.
- Junior Kendall Pliner was able to tie the game later in the inning with a single that plated two runs.
- Marian had the go-ahead run at third with less than two outs but were unable to bring it home.
- A passed ball in the eighth inning then allowed the Muskies to earn a walk-off win in extra innings.
GAME 2
- The Muskies were able to take advantage of a pair of Marian errors and had another strong start scoring four runs, two unearned.
- From there it was all about the pitching and defense as neither team plated a run.
- The Sabres put together another strong rally but could only plate three runs in the top of hte seventh.
- Freshman Erin Cowe drove in a run with a double and later scored when sophomore Ariana Schliepp brought a pair of Sabres home.
- Marian remains in NACC Tournament contention currently sitting in eighth wiht a one-game lead on Wisconsin Lutheran.
