RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Marian University baseball (9-9, 3-3 NACC) swept Concordia Chicago for the first time in program history with wins of 2-1 and 11-7.

GAME 1
- The opening game was dominated by pitching as the two squads would combine for only three earned runs.
- After threatening in the second, junior Jacob Kleemann would steal third base in the third and scored off of a throwing error to put Marian ahead 1-0.
- Senior Tyler Blum then added to the Marian lead driving in a run with two outs in the fourth.
- Concordia Chicago responded in the bottom half of the frame but that would be the only scoring for either side.
- Junior Riley Richard would end the game emphatically with back-to-back strikeouts looking.
GAME 2
- Concordia Chicago struck quickly for three runs in the second to take an early 3-0 lead.
- The lead didn't last long, however, as Marian responded scoring four runs in the next half inning.
- Senior Albert Kiszka highlighted the rally with a double that put Marian ahead 4-3.
- After a sacrifice fly from Marian in the fourth, Concordia Chicago tied the game at 5-5 after four innings.
- A bases-clearing double with two outs from junior Gus Walker in the fifth gave Marian the lead for good.
- The Cougars were able to make things interesting with two runs in the sixth to only trail 8-7.
- The Sabres had an answer in the next half inning once again with Walker driving in two more runs and Kleemann plating a run to set the final at 11-7.
