MOORHEAD, Minn. - Marian University men's ice hockey (5-6-0, 2-4-0 NCHA) defeated Concordia College 4-3 in overtime to open the second half of the season.
 
 
	- Each team lit the lamp in the final 2:23 of the opening period opening with a goal from the Cobbers.
 
	- Sophomore Cole Carlson then evened the score with assists from senior Matteo Pecchia and fellow sophomore Caden Carlson.
 
	- A short-handed goal from the Cobbers broke the tie, but on the same power play, Marian was able to even the score.
 
	- Pecchia was the Sabre to light the lamp at the 5:36 mark with assists from Carlson, Co. and sophomore Nolan Flint.
 
	- This proved to be the only scoring as the two squads stayed tied heading into the third.
 
	- Marian took its first lead of the game when Carlson, Co. scored with 5:44 left, assists to Pecchia and Carlson, Ca.
 
	- A power-play goal from CC just 1:16 later tied the game and forced overtime.
 
	- Freshman Brandon Modde ended the game 2:24 into the overtime session with assists from Flint and fellow freshman Dayne Tews.
 
 
 
	- Concordia College held a 46-29 advantage for shots on goal.
 
	- The Cobbers also had an edge of 38-30 in draws.
 
	- Marian had a goal on two power-play chances, while CC finished just 1-of-7.
 
	- The Sabres are now 3-2 in games that go to overtime.
 
	- Marian gains a slim 5-4-1 advantage in the all-time series with the win.
