FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's volleyball (1-15, 0-2 NACC) opened the week with a four-set loss against WLC with set scores of 25-23, 25-13, 19-25, and 25-21.
- The beginning of the match was a seesaw affair leading to a 17-17 stalemate.
- Marian then went on a 4-1 spurt to lead 22-18 and draw a WLC timeout.
- The brief pause shifted the momentum as the Warriors scored seven of the next eight points, including the final five, to take the opening set.
- The second set saw Wisconsin Lutheran use their serve to stunt the Sabre defense and easily cruise to a 2-0 lead.
- WLC opened the third with a small 4-3 lead before Marian scored six straight to lead by five.
- The Sabre lead was cut down to 12-10 before a 6-1 Marian spurt put the Sabres ahead 18-11.
- Once again, the lead was cut to two at 20-18, but the Sabres held off the rally scoring five of the final six points to force a fourth set.
- Marian led late by a score of 18-16 to start the fourth set, but WLC had an answer scoring five straight to take the lead for good.
- The Sabres cut their deficit down to 21-20 only for the Warriors to cloe out th ematch on a 4-1 run.
- WLC had a 42-38 edge in kills and a 51-48 advantage in digs.
- The Warriors also had 13 service aces to only four for the Sabres.
- Marian hit .281 with 14 kills in the third set.
- The Sabres are now 30-24 all-time against Wisconsin Lutheran.
